You Damn Right I Did...
Some kid from up here decided to email me without commenting on my blog and asked me if I was the same one who won the dunk contest in 1995 here in Springfield's Hoop It Up. To answer your question, yes I did, and I took the next 6 after that between 3 cities in 5 years. To me, that is one of the biggest highlights of my life, aside from DJing at a comercial station, and having the pleasure of meeting alot of celebrities in the music industry, this is by far one of my biggest accomplishments. In case yall didn't know, the Hoop It Up is one of the biggest things to come to the Field, seeing that we are the birthplace of basketball, and all people think about when it comes to us and basketball is the Boston Celtics, this is what we have to deal with. So streetball is whats good up here, and this tournament is where we all get down. I was about 5'9 at the time and I was outshined by the high school all stars, so I wasn't the star by a longshot. To be honest when they called my name, I was booed for about 2 minutes. Yeah the odds were stacked but I pulled through and went through a 5 round dunk off (the longest in HIU Springfield history) with one of my friends who was one of the all stars. Shout out to my man C. White, I got you with that 360 windmill, even though you tried it first, it looks so much better leftie. After that, I took 96 in Springfield and Hartford, 97 Hartford-Boston, 98 in Boston, Boston in 00, . I feel like I done it all when it comes down to it. Between the legs, off the glass, reverse, off the bounce, crowd alley oop, name it I probably did it. Now I'm in a little trouble, slowed down by a knee that won't let me know if it wants to stay or go, so no more for me. As a matter of fact, Springfield isn't doing it this year and by the time you read this, my team is not going to participate this year. I agree with them, for some reason Boston just isn't the place for me right now. Sorry. For all the cats who were judges, thanks for the love, and the cats who booed me, thanks for the love as well, its good to know I made yall some money in 96.
Enough flashbacks, lets get to whats good, I'm still working and the road to goal achieving is well underway. I actually am considering finishing school (unfortunate for me I was a drop-out). I want to get my degree, my major was Criminal Psych, now I think Social Work is more for me. Either way, I want to do Probation, that's whassup. For the record though, no cop shit, not my thing.
Real quick, anyone catch the Kevin Garnett Adidas commercial with him holding all those people piggyback? Question, where the hell are they going? Just a thought.
Before I go, someone owes me an explanation.......they know who they are, they know what about, if I don't hear shit soon, I will call your ass out by name: full government and all.
Big shout out to H20 Element, Foxwoods Casino (c-yall Friday), Dorothy and Leroys soul food cafe, CEO (Choke Expert Organization) my close combat crew, KOALA (Knockin Out All Lame Asses) my female version of the CEO, SLAM Magazine for giving Detroit the love they deserve and Mike Tyson who is about to help get me closer to my goal for the summer. Once again let me remind yall, the fight is Saturday, put the money up and get fucking paid, its simple.
VIP love to *K, *Y, 413 fam, 5 Elements, from what I hear, the New England Conference is making a comeback. Do the thing yall, someone needs to step up.
I'm out like a ball hit by Barry Bonds
